I just wanted to send you a big 'Thank You' for your helpful web page http://familyindistress.org/fid-FEMA.html I've been volunteering at an after school program and one of the girls in my group, Jenna, found your website while doing extra research about Natural Disasters and Emergency Management. I just wanted to let you know that your information has been a big help not only to her, but to our entire group! Thanks so much :)
During her research, she came across an article that was very helpful to her: http://www.airoasis.com/knowledgebase/kids-guide-to-tornadoes and she was wondering if you would mind adding it to your page when you have the time. She really wanted to pass along her research to other people on the Internet and she would be so happy to hear if you found her research helpful.
Let me know what you think and if you have any other resources for us to check out!
Have a great day,
Family in Distress was a very interesting class. There was a lot of inspiration that we received about everyday living, life skills and spiritual growth and so much more. It was very educational. The staff made you feel very comfortable. We all were able to connect, they made you feel like family. I'm really glad that I was a part of this class. I would recommend that everyone, young and old, take this class. There's a lot to learn.
Thanks Family In Distress and Mr. Jerry Carter for helping me with my dental payment issue. I am sincerely grateful for this unexpected assistance at a time when it is much needed. Glad to know there are people still out there willing to help others.
Family in Distress is an excellent program for people of all ages. This separation to restoration program guides you through the steps of finding out who you really are. Also, you learn skills that are going to change your life around for the better. The instructors really elaborate on the skills so you get it in your mind and it stays. They teach you these skills also while having a good time. I learned so much from this program. It has helped me with my relationships with my family and friends. I also learned how to control my anger and how to think before I act because I am my own authority. P.S. you all are wonderful people to be around.
I, Helen Miller, attend the class Family in Distress at Perrine Park every Monday for several months. I have learned a lot of things from the class...how to live and get along with people and my family, how to put God in control of my life and how to get along with people. I met many friends at the class. The factors that impact people's ability to understand emotion, how emotions change, feeling and conflict with other people...how to communicate and feeling of disappointments. Most of all, I matter to God.
He hath showed the O man of God what is good, but do what is required of thee to live justly and love merciful and walk humbly with God.
I AM MY OWN AUTHORITY:
Thank you Family in Distress for your commitment to aid those in need, looking back, there were so many challenges I had to experience and to understand it as a part of my growth, yes, there were risks with consequences, lack of feelings and very broken. I am my own authority, something I have never understood because resistance to change with acceptance was never my focus. Attending Family in Distress has helped me to acknowledge with closure to forgive.
In closing, thank you to the Family in Distress team, you truly deserve to be congratulated for providing the knowledge, skills and wisdom. Sincerely,
I am not only grateful, but I am truly thankful for having the opportunity to experience such a wonderful group of loving, knowledgeable people who have made a huge impact on my life. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts, feelings and wisdom. Because of these classes, I can now face my own personal issues. I've been broken inside for so long and I've blamed everyone in my path for the things that I had control over all the time. I learned that I need to make better choices for no one other than me before I can begin to make someone else happy.
The lesson of codependency opened my eyes to where I am in my life and what I've been doing wrong...until today. I thought I was alone in my thinking until Ms. Cheryl shared some personal things with us that really touched me deep within. Thank you.
Family in Distress, I really enjoyed this class. I learned a lot of things that I really wasn't aware of. The class has changed my life little at a time. I really think that this class needs to come back so that the ones that missed it will get the chance to enjoy it. I only wish that there was a part two to this class.
I am really thankful that I had a chance to be a part of this class. I thank you all for your time and teachings.
I have learned and enjoyed the program very much. I learned how to make appropriate complaints and how to handle complaints. That it is important to apologize as soon as possible. I have sometimes had problems doing that, but this program has helped me to see the reasons for doing that. This program has helped me to take a look at myself and given me instruments to use to help me become a better person. Also to understand others better.
I think one of the most important things this program has taught me is about "active listening". Everything starts with really listening and hearing what is being said. A lot of anger, confusion, conflicts and problems could be avoided if we really listen to each other. I would like to thank all of the facilitators for a wonderful job. Your presentations were always interesting and full of helpful techniques. I would recommend the program to anyone that really wants to help learning to deal with a variety of situations in life. Love You
